An article released in Yahoo on February 14th, 2012 states that Pfizer, one of the world’s leading drug developing companies, has hopes of creating the world’s most effective medicine against Alzheimer’s to date, which would also be the first that to slow the development of Alzheimer’s, as revealed by current studies. Alzheimer’s is a mental disorder that affects approximately 5 million Americans and approximately 30 million people worldwide. In its previous drug phase trials, Pfizer’s bapineuzumab, has shown more compelling results that that of many competitors in the effectiveness in slowing the disease of Alzheimer’s in its study patients. Pfizer is expected to release this drug’s phase III trial results in the second-half of this year, and if the studies continue to release fairly optimistic results, it is possible that we could be seeing a provably, more effective Alzheimer’s drug on the market in the next few years.
